care and Autism
The Center for Autism Research and Education was founded in 2003 in order to combine both state of the art clinical practice and innovative research. CARE is made up of a multidisciplinary team of like-minded practitioners who welcome the challenge, joy, and fulfillment of working with individuals with Autism spectrum disorders and their families. Our goal is to prove that autism is a treatable condition. As our knowledge and understanding improve, we believe that many cases will be preventable. Our hope is that it will ultimately be curable.
CARE is a truly unique facility with respect to it's approach to Autism. The combined experience of our practitioners, individual clinical approach and philosophy have led us to the joint conclusion that it is highly unlikley Autism will cured by any single therapy. Furthermore, we believe that in many ways, commiting all present and future research efforts to any single branch of science or medicine (incl. genetics and behavioral sciences) will likely be to the detriment of the present, growing population of those diagnosed with Autism. One might say that as a group, we have our 'feet planted firmly on the ground' with respect to our role in the treatment of this disorder: At the moment, there is no cure for Autism but this disorder is very much treatable. By this we mean that an individual with Autism can improve in social, mental and physical function, provided that they are offered the most appropriate therapy, at the right time and in the best way possible. It is here that we believe we offer a truly unique treatment option.
